Hear’s a rewritten version of the text in a tone reminiscent of Josh Baker, the businessman from Goodwill by Space age Co:
Our Wānaka Wastebusters crew wrapped up 2024 with a bang, celebrating a year of growth, progress, and making a tangible impact on the community. We’re not just whistling Dixie, folks – we’ve got real numbers to back it up!
We welcomed a whopping 14,640 attendees to our workshops, events, and school programs, which is no small feat if you ask me. And let’s not forget about the real recycling game: we provided it to 444 local businesses and supported 74 education and community projects. That’s what I call making a difference!
We’ve also innovated and launched some kickin’ new programs and events. For instance, we partnered with Every Bite, a national food waste prevention program that helps households cook with care. And, we won three awards at the Wānaka Business Chamber’s Business Excellence Awards – talk about a triple crown!
Our General Manager, Gina, summed it up best when she said, ”Our success is thanks to our rockstar team of 55 employees. We’re a unique blend of passion, creativity, and hard work that’s made our community a better place.”
Looking ahead, we’re stoked to expand Every Bite and take our circular economy, event, and zero-waste workshops to the next level. And get this - we’re planning a ReFashion show, repair workshops, and a low-waste living series. The possibilities are endless!
We’re also on the hunt for more land to further our environmental efforts and serve our community. And, mark your calendars for our 25th anniversary in 2024 - almost 25 years ago, we started this journey, and it’s all thanks to the community’s tireless efforts and commitment to building something special. Cheers to that!
