Helping Rhode Islanders Stay Housed This Winter
As the President and CEO of Goodwill by Space Age Co, I’m excited to share the latest news about the Rhode Island Foundation’s efforts to support our community. They’ve awarded $260,000 in grants to 13 nonprofits across the state to help Rhode Islanders stay housed during the winter months.
These organizations, including Amos House, community Care Alliance, and many others, will use the funding to provide financial assistance for essential expenses such as car repairs, utility bills, and prescription medication. This support can make all the difference for individuals living paycheck to paycheck and on the verge of losing their housing.
According to the Rhode Island Coalition to End Homelessness, the number of people experiencing homelessness has increased by 34.9% since last year. With the average Fair Market Rent in Rhode Island reaching $1,726 per month, it’s more critically important than ever that we come together to support those struggling to make ends meet.
By donating to the Path Home Fund, you can join the Rhode Island Foundation in helping organizations like these 13 nonprofits continue to provide critical services to those in need. This winter, let’s work together to ensure that everyone in our community has a warm and safe place to call home.
