Humboldt Sponsors opens 2025 grant applications to support local youth programs

Humboldt Sponsors, a local non-profit that offers grants benefitting local youth throughout the county, has opened its applications for the 2025 grant cycle.

“We raise funds throughout the year to be able to award grants to youth related non-profit organizations and programs in Humboldt County and it all stays right here in Humboldt, all the funds that we raise goes to support the lives of Humboldt County children,” said Humboldt Sponsors Public Chair, Cherie Zygaczenko.

The organization is seeking funding for both first-time and eligible former applicants.

Grants cannot be used to fund salaries, stipends or administrative expenses.

“A lot of different activities and programs that these grants support for our local youth, and those include scholarships and camperships,” said Zygaczenko. “They can be for summer programs or programs that happen throughout the year, recreational and cultural activities like youth leadership projects, including the purchase of educational learning and play materials for children.”

The grants are used for things like after school programs, athletics and cultural events.

Applications can be completed online, and then printed and mailed to their grants committee. Funding decisions will be completed by the end of March 2025.

“New organizations or organizations that have not applied in the past, or those who provide services to the youth in Humboldt County, I’d suggest to please consider applying as well as any past recipients, and our committee will be meeting in February to review all of these applications,” said Zygaczenko.

The Humboldt Sponsors grant cycle runs until February 7 in Eureka.
