East London, South Africa (07 January 2025) – Cycling enthusiasts get excited! The highly anticipated 2025 Spargs 1000 Cycle Race is set to take place on 2 February 2025, providing riders and those looking to make a difference in the lives of many children the perfect opportunity to kick-start the year with purpose and passion!
This year’s race promises to be an exhilarating event, combining the thrill of competition with the spirit of giving back to the community.
Organised by the Eyabantwana Trust, this event aims to raise vital funds for the purchase of a Flexible Gastroscope, a critical piece of surgical equipment for the Department of Paediatric Surgery.
This advanced device, costing R830,000, will be the largest and most significant purchase the Trust has made since its establishment 13 years ago. With your support, you can provide life-saving resources for children in need.
The Eyabantwana Trust is a non-profit organisation that raises funds annually to support the needs of the East London Department of Paediatric Surgery, based at the Frere and Cecilia Makiwane Hospitals. The need for surgical equipment is specialised to ensure children receive the best possible care from assigned surgical teams.
Whether you’re an experienced cyclist or a first-timer, there’s a route for everyone to enjoy! The race caters to a range of fitness levels with multiple distances to choose from:
