Schooler Family Foundation awards more than $394,000 to area nonprofits

COSHOCTON − The Schooler Family Foundation is awarding more than $394,000 in grant funding to 20 nonprofit organization in the area.

Money is provided for a wide range of philanthropic purposes, including annual operating budgets, specific programs and projects, equipment, capital facilities and buildings, endowment and capacity-building. It supports projects in the areas of economic development, environment, energy, education, human service, aging, religion, healthcare, recreation, science and medicine, historic preservation, leadership, civic engagement and citizenship, arts and culture and community development.

Those receiving funding include:

  • East Central Ohio Chapter of the American Red Cross – $15,000 for disaster preparedness and relief, services to the Armed Forces and biomedical services and blood collection programs

  • Boy Scouts of America, Muskingum Valley Council – $2,500 for the 2024 Scout leadership dinner

  • Clary Gardens – $13,292 for the white garden arbor construction and perennial plantings

  • Coshocton In Bloom – $25,000 for storage facility construction

  • Coshocton City and County Park District – $33,864 for a finishing mower for Eagle Ridge Disc Golf Course

  • Coshocton County Historic Cemeteries Preservation Collective – $2,045 for a community garden at Royer Chapel and Cemetery

  • Foundation for Appalachian Ohio – $25,000 for the 25 year celebration/Friends of FAO

  • Hanover Volunteer Fire Department – $8,675 for vehicle stabilization equipment

  • Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio – $5,000 for Coshocton County schools programs

  • Kids America – $10,000 for handicapped building entry devices

  • Leadership Coshocton County – $1,750 for Class of 2024 closing retreat

  • Muskingum Valley Educational Service Center – $92,428. for Coshocton Elementary School GEARS before and after school and summer programs

  • Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges – $40,000 for the Coshocton County Scholarship Program

  • Ohio State University – $50,000 for adult congenital heart disease fellowship program, $50,000

  • River View Recreation – $10,000 for equipment and ball field improvements at River View Community Park

  • Roscoe Village Foundation – $10,450 for A Roscoe Christmas digital tour production

  • Salvation Army – $15,000 for emergency social services program

  • Tri-Valley Soccer Boosters/Muskingum County Community Foundation – $15,000 for improvements to the soccer complex at Kenny Wolford Park

  • Village of Frazeysburg – $9,100 for community pool cement application for a diving board

  • Village of Warsaw – $10,000 for path extension at River View Community Park
