Roland DiOrio, 73, passed away quietly at home on Thursday, January 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. The son of the late Peter and Georgette DiOrio, he is survived by his loving husband of 38 years, Robert L. Paquette and his children, daughters Kathryn M. and Ellyn M., his son Peter DiOrio and grandson Zakery T. DiOrio all of NJ. He was the brother of Douglas DiOrio of Swansea, MA, Joseph DiOrio of Barrington, RI, Donald DiOrio of VT, and the late Peter DiOrio.
Roland attended Barrington High School, graduating in 1969. He earned his bachelor’s degree summa cum laude from Bryant University and his MBA from Providence College.
Roland worked for several for-profit companies such as GE, Child World, and Air Products until settling into working for several non-profits as the CFO or COO, such as Sunrise Community Housing, Dorcas Place, and many years at AIDS Care Ocean State.
Roland’s passions were philanthropy, gardening, painting in oils and watercolor and most recently selling on eBay.
He will be greatly missed by family and friends. His funeral will be private at the convenience of the family.
