F1 schools gives House of Hope of the Pee Dee funding for annual giving campaign
FLORENCE, S.C. (WPDE) — The holidays are over but the season of giving is still upon us.
House of Hope of the Pee Dee received over $4,000 dollars from Florence 1 Schools for their annual giving campaign.
The group was one of twelve non-profit organizations.
In 2024, $50,000 dollars was raised by teachers making this the highest percentage of giving.
CEO of House of Hope Jon Weiss said the money will go toward their general operating budget and will be used to serve people within their programs.
We are just so blessed because 50% of our operating budget is from individuals and churches and grants and funding, so without the support from this community, the House of Hope of the Pee Dee could not serve those in need, said Weiss.
The non-profit helps people facing homelessness and strives for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the people within their shelters.

Weiss said the group has served over $100,000 meals at their facilities throughout the city.
He said he’s appreciative for the help as his teams’ task is no easy job.
Not only are they dedicating their time and their God-given abilities to the minds of our future and our community, they are also donating to local nonprofits in town, so we cannot thank administration and teachers enough for what they do for the Florence community, said Weiss.
House of Hope serves up to 120 people a night, last year about 1,000 people were served by the group and they did almost 37,000 nights of lodging.
