GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) -Grant applications for organizations that help people with disabilities are now open.
$2 million in funding for the Disability Benefit Application Assistance Grants will be awarded to non-profits and County Human Services.
This money will help people with disabilities in the application process for benefits such as supplemental security income, social security disability insurance, and Medicaid.
Applications are open until Jan. 31st.
The amount of funding available for the grant is a large increase from the amount released last year by the Colorado Disability Funding Committee.
Last year, it was around $500,000 as opposed to this year’s $2 million.
