Rail News – OmniTRAX, Brownsville port short line donate funds to Texas nonprofits. For Railroad Career Professionals

OmniTRAX and its affiliate railroad, Brownsville & Rio Grande International Railway (BRG), have donated  $77,500 to 11 nonprofit organizations in Brownsville, Texas.

OmniTRAX and BRG collaborated with the Port of Brownsville, where BRG operates 45 miles of rail, to identify the nonprofits to receive funding to provide resources to the Brownsville community, OmniTRAX officials said in a press release. The donations are part of OmniTRAX’s network-wide community outreach effort that annually provides funding for meals and essential services.

“Part of being a good neighbor is joining our local partners to serve our community. These 11 organizations lift up our neighbors and provide important community services. We are proud to help expand their reach throughout Brownsville,” said BRG President Shariff Gonnella.
