Barancik Foundation awards $3.2 million to Sarasota-area nonprofits | Philanthropy news

The Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation in Sarasota, Florida, has announced grants totaling $3.2 million in support of organizations across the region.

The latest grants will support vulnerable families and environmental sustainability and help expand access to early education. Recipients include Children First, the Head Start and Early Head Start provider in Sarasota County, which was awarded $900,000 to add three classrooms; Women’s Resource Center, which will receive $400,000 in support of core programming and to build organizational capacity; and the Pines of Sarasota Foundation, which was awarded $255,000 to support healthcare career education programs and provide childcare scholarships for staff at Pines of Sarasota. Additional recipients include Manatee Children’s Services, which was awarded $320,000 to make critical security and infrastructure upgrades at its Child Advocacy Center in Bradenton, and the Bay Park Conservancy, which will receive $1 million to help fund resilient shoreline and water quality improvements at The Bay, a local park area that eventually will provide public access to 53 acres of land.

With this latest round of grants, the foundation has awarded more than $27.5 million in 2024.
