CHRISTUS Health has distributed nearly $300,000 to five Texarkana-area non-profits as part of its $3.3 million Community Impact Fund. The fund supports programs improving health and well-being in communities across Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico.
Local recipients include:
- Community Healthcore of Texarkana and Atlanta
- Hands on Texarkana
- Harvest Regional Food Bank
- Runnin’ WJ Therapeutic Riding Center
- The Salvation Army of Greater Texarkana
The grants focus on addressing issues like chronic disease, mental health, safe housing, and food insecurity. Jessica Guerra, program manager for community development, said the initiative aims to collaborate with organizations making a difference locally.
Since 2011, CHRISTUS Health has invested over $22 million in its communities.
