Los Alamos Community Foundation Celebrates 10-Year Anniversary With 10 Surprise ‘Gifts’ To Local Nonprofits

LACF News:

  • Nominate Your Favorite Nonprofit!

LACF News —The Los Alamos Community Foundation (LACF) is celebrating its 10-year anniversary of building philanthropy in 2025 by awarding $1,000 “surprise” grants to local nonprofit organizations. LACF is giving away $1,000 a month for 10 months. The surprise gifts will be given away starting in February and continuing up to LACF’s anniversary in November—and it’s YOU who gets to award the grant.

The Foundation is looking for stories about local nonprofit organizations and their personal impact to you, someone you love, and to our community. Nominations for awards, via a simple online form at our website (https://losalamoscf.org/giving/nominate-your-favorite-nonprofit-for-a-10-for-10-grant/), is now available, with the first award scheduled to be given in February 2025. Nominators may choose to remain anonymous in publicity by indicating this on the form.

The winning organization will be given the “gift” through a surprise visit by LACF volunteers that may be recorded and shared.

There is no limit to how many organizations a person may nominate, nor restrictions on who may nominate an organization, but a person may only nominate a nonprofit one time as multiple nominations by the same person do not increase opportunities for the nonprofit. It is the story that will win the day; each nomination must have a true story of impact.

So get ready, get set, and nominate!
