SunLive – CDD wins NZ award in Xero Sustainability Fund

Confidential Document Destruction (CDD) announced it was named a New Zealand winner in the 2024 Xero Beautiful Business Fund’s ‘I Innovating for environmental sustainability’ category.

This recognition from Xero will support CDD in advancing its mission to divert 100% of waste from landfills and expand its efforts to provide innovative, sustainable waste solutions.

The Xero Beautiful Business Fund aims to support small businesses and non-profits with their growth plans and help drive future success.

The 2024 fund offered over $750,000 to Xero small business customers in Australia, Canada (excluding Quebec), New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, the UK, and the US, with four entry categories available.

This year, 24 countries and four global winners were selected based on a 90-second video demonstrating how they would use the funding to support their future business goals. Each country winner received NZ$20,000 (or local currency equivalent), and the four global winners received NZ$70,000 (or local currency equivalent).

“Winning the Xero Beautiful Business Fund is a privilege for Confidential Document Destruction (CDD), recognizing the progress we’ve made in providing sustainable waste solutions in the Bay of Plenty and surrounding areas,” Confidential Document Destruction co-owner Te-Aumihi Ogden said.

“This support allows us to invest in advanced equipment, boosting our ability to process soft plastics and other recyclables. As a result, we can meet growing demand, reduce landfill waste, and further contribute to the circular economy. This award strengthens our mission to lead meaningful waste reduction and continue offering eco-friendly solutions to local businesses.”
