Austin College students commence “Great Day of Service”
SHERMAN, Texas (KXII) – Several Austin College students made, Saturday, November 9, a “Great Day of Service,” by gathering for a mass volunteering event.
Up to 240 students dedicated their time to volunteering at dozens of non-profits in the Sherman, TX and Denison, TX area.
240 students were immersed in an engaging, fun environment all while having fun at up to 28 different sites, such as Grand Central Station, Temple Center Restoration, and the Sherman Animal Shelter.
Students helped clear Howe roadways and rid them of debris, tend to pets, and much more.
Great Day of Service is organized by the Austin College “Service Station,” a student-led office that “promotes the involvement of all Austin College students in volunteer and community service efforts.”
