Sweet Cheeks Winery supports local nonprofits with Charitable Cheers campaign
EUGENE, Ore. — This time of year is a time for giving. That’s why, through Dec. 31, Sweet Cheeks Winery is supporting three local nonprofits in Eugene with its Charitable Cheers campaign.
One of the nonprofits selected to be part of this year’s campaign is Burrito Brigade.
“Any additional funds will go straight back into our program,” Burrito Brigade Executive Director Jennifer Denson said. “We believe food is a human right, so we will just continue to do our programs, and the more support we get from the community, the better.”
Burrito Brigade has multiple services to help give people access to food, including making 650 to 700 burritos every weekend for those in need.
Sweet Cheeks said it is a mission its staff wants to support.
“We have a heart for our community. We love this community that we operate within,” said Sweet Cheeks’ Katie Brown. “We love seeing members of our community out here and we think that there’s so much good happening in our community by non-profit organizations. And so we wanted to be able to give back.”
For the duration of the program, proceeds from Sweet Cheeks’ wine tastings will be donated to the Burrito Brigade, CASA of Lane County, and Wiggly Tails Dog Rescue.
“We will donate all of our tasting fees. So anytime anybody comes and visits us and enjoys the tasting and pays for that, they can get a voting token and choose a charity of their choice to donate their tasting fee to. And then our wine club members who don’t pay for tastings, they can choose to donate $5 to a charity of their choice as well,” Brown said.
During last year’s campaign, Sweet Cheeks was able to donate around $10,000.
