The ExtraGive is a one-day giving event and and framework for nonprofits to solicit support from the community. It is put on by the Lancaster County Community Foundation.

“ExtraGive celebrates our community coming together to care for Lancaster County,” community foundation Executive Vice President Tracy Cutler said in a statement. “It is a day when we are cheering for each other, supporting vital local causes, and inviting everyone to be part of strengthening our community for today and for our shared future.”

Donors can research organizations and make donations through the ExtraGive website, with a minimum donation of $10. As of Thursday, 428 nonprofits had signed up to participate. To see them, click here.

With support from sponsors, the community foundation provides more than $500,000 toward a “Stretch Pool” to supplement community donations along with various incentive prizes awarded throughout the day.
