Torch Technologies gifts $10,000 to two of Lawton’s local nonprofits

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) – Two local nonprofits were presented with major donations to help their missions of helping the community.

Torch Technologies gave $10,000 checks to MIGHT Community Development and Lawton Mobile Meals.

The check presentation took place at the FISTA headquarters this afternoon.

Both organizations were recognized for their tireless work towards the Lawton Fort Sill Community and CEO of MIGHT Community Development Bernita Taylor was beyond grateful for the funds.

“So it’s always a blessing to be a blessing to the community, but it’s even more exciting for the community to bless us and recognize the work that we do. We appreciate Torch so much and their mission and their wanting to be a part of what we’re doing and we just are very thankful.”

MIGHT plans to invest their funds into a new housing resource center that will aim to house up to ten families in need of assistance.

They also plan to offer resources for people facing evictions, homelessness or needing stable housing.
