Non-profit helps with rides to the polls

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – For those who have a difficult time getting to the polls on election day, there is some help.

Eau Claire Transit is waiving fares on Election Day, November 5.

JONAH (Joining Our Neighbors in Advancing Hope, is coordinating rides to the polls for the first time in order to prevent voting barriers and support those who cannot drive. You just need to go to their website and fill out an application, or call JONAH.

If you are a paratransit user (Abby Vans) your co-pay will be waived.

People may need rides to get their voter ID, turn in their absentee ballot, participate in early voting, or need support the day of the election.

If you want to help pay for free rides to be available, contact JONAH.
