Americans Unite on Key Issues, Trust Nonprofits for Change

It’s hard to listen to or read today’s headlines without hearing the word “unprecedented.” And it’s true: We are living in an unprecedented time. That’s especially true when it comes to division. Some days, the unprecedented nature of our national dialogue feels, well, unprecedented.

But some things are not new. The Walton Family Foundation’s approach to tackling challenges is unwavering no matter who is in office – in city hall, in the State House, in Congress or even the White House.

Why? Because the problems we face are too big for any one foundation, one sector or one point of view to solve alone. Simply put, they don’t fit neatly into one partisan box.

We believe when everyone is at the table, from all experiences and beliefs, our ideas are simply better. That doesn’t mean that it’s easy. In fact, it can be tough. But we know that listening to and understanding each other, even when we don’t agree, leads to stronger, lasting solutions.

In our work, this matters. It’s how we continue to find opportunities to come together and work for big change.
